Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) is the highest level of certification an aircraft pilot can have. It allows a pilot to be in command of aircraft. To become a Captain with an Airline, a pilot will need to have an Airline Transport Pilot License.
ATPL: Theoretical knowledge Examination in the subjects of Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Radio Aids and Instruments (conducted ONLINE – Computer Based), and Oral ( as applicable).
Note: ATPL License is not issued on single engine aircraft
The requirements for issue of the Flight Crew Licenses are prescribed in Schedule II of Aircraft Rules, 1937.
ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License):
The applicant should have Indian Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) with multi-engine endorsement. Flying experience required for issue is 1500 hrs.
